What should I do with my used prom dresses?
I graduated high school a few years ago and my closet is stuffed with four prom dresses that I have absolutely no use for. Anybody know of any good programs to donate to? Or a way to make money off of them? I live in NJ.

- Sell them on Ebay? lol
- If you donate them to goodwill or the salvation army ask for a receipt. You can write this off on your taxes.
- Take them to a homeless shelter for families. There are many high school age girls who's parents cannot afford to get them a pretty dress.
- there's a number of things you can do. you can either do the usual 'oooh , i'll wear them later' (that never happens) or you can help someone else out. there are quite a few programs out there that loan out prom dresses to girls who can't afford to buy their own. its a great idea because everyone should enjoy their prom night , and if they blow their whole life savings on a dress, well, what kind of fun is that ? i suggest donating your dresses to a good cause that lends out dresses to girls who can't afford them. :)
- IDK how close you are to Manhattan, but I know there is a company that buys old prom dresses and then rents them to underprivileged girls so they can have a nice prom... you can try looking that up I saw it on the news Or there is always the salvation army Or of course Ebay and craigslist but I would wait until next years prom season b/c nobody is going to be looking to buy a prom dress right now
- DonateMyDress.org story & video: http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news/local&id=6751569
- customise it and wear it. use gems and stuff although i love the idea of giving it to a homeless shelter because that would probably be the nicest thing to do.
- Of course you could sell them on eBay or give them away. DonateMyDress.org is a good site, it's for girls who can't afford to buy a prom dress. That would be really nice to do. :)
- you should donate them. to organizations life salvation army or something, also you can sell them on e-bay. depends on you actually.
