American Terms: Women's night gowns?

In Australia, we call the dresses that women wear to bed "nighties". (We use this word for both over-sized flannel old-lady night gowns, and also the thin, sexy, satin/lacy night gowns.) I want to know what they are called in America. Specifically, the sexy satin/lacy types. Are they just called "Night gowns"?
